Country Lead – Senegal (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking an innovative Country Lead for Senegal on a maternity‑cover basis. The role will drive climate‑related communications, advocacy and partnership building to advance sustainable development and clean‑energy transition across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Translate Africa regional strategy into country‑level priorities, campaigns and initiatives aligned with local context.
• Coordinate and deliver integrated communications and advocacy campaigns from planning through implementation.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior government officials, media, civil society and strategic partners.
• Gather, analyse and share strategic intelligence to inform decision‑making and campaign planning.
• Collaborate with other Country Leads and regional colleagues to design cross‑country initiatives.
• Ensure activities contribute to measurable outcomes and long‑term impact.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of climate‑related narratives in national, regional and global media.
• Proven experience coordinating projects and leading teams, including remote management.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills across diverse cultural and geographic contexts.
• Strategic thinker able to balance high‑level planning with practical implementation.

Required skills

• Fluency in French and English.
• Experience with communications strategy, advocacy planning and stakeholder engagement.
