Data, Analytics and Performance Management Consultant

About the role

The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene in Senegal, through its Directorate of Maternal and Child Health, is seeking a Data, Analysis and Performance Management Expert to strengthen data‑driven decision‑making for family planning and postpartum family planning programmes. The role is a one‑year consulting contract, renewable based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Produce regular analyses of priority indicators for family planning, PPFP and SRMNIA‑N and develop evidence packs, dashboards and performance review materials.
• Support performance monitoring by setting up tracking tables, managing dashboards, and contributing to escalation mechanisms and coordination meetings.
• Improve data quality and governance through validation, documentation of indicator definitions, and optimisation of DHIS2 and other health information systems.
• Train and mentor technical teams on data monitoring, analysis and visualisation tools to foster a data‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in statistics, data science, public health, epidemiology, health informatics, health economics or related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience managing and analysing health data, with proven experience in monitoring and evaluation of public health programmes, especially SRMNIA‑N.
• Practical experience with DHIS2 and health information systems; knowledge of the Senegalese healthcare system is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, STATA, R or Python for data analysis and visualisation.
• Proficiency in DHIS2 and health information system management.
• Ability to analyse, synthesize and visualise data to produce operational recommendations.
