Director of Operations & Engineering

About the role

Helios Towers is seeking a Director of Operations & Engineering to lead end‑to‑end operational performance across its Senegal portfolio. The role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on oversight of operations, security, engineering and network operation centres, ensuring safe, reliable and cost‑efficient services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and day‑to‑day oversight of all operational, security, engineering and network centre activities.
• Drive partner and customer experience excellence through adoption of new technologies and processes.
• Ensure service performance meets financial targets while maintaining safety and reliability standards.
• Champion renewable‑energy transition, diesel‑reduction initiatives and digital‑operations improvements.
• Oversee SLA management and governance for telecom infrastructure services.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; postgraduate qualification desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of operational and engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Background in telecommunications infrastructure, power systems, network operations or other asset‑intensive industries.
• Experience leading partner‑led multi‑site infrastructure models and renewable‑energy projects.
• Relevant certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management or Business Management are advantageous.
