Education Officer (P-2) – Temporary Assignment, 6 months

About the role

UNICEF Senegal is seeking an Education Officer (P‑2) on a six‑month temporary appointment to support programmes that improve girls’ education, inclusive education, assistive technology and the empowerment of vulnerable children and adolescents.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning for education interventions targeting gender‑transformative and disability‑inclusive approaches.
• Manage and monitor programme implementation, ensuring delivery of results and compliance with UNICEF standards.
• Provide technical and operational support to field teams delivering education activities.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government counterparts, NGOs, WHO, ATscale and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives within the Education Section.

Required profile

• University degree in education, psychology, sociology or a related technical field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in programme planning, management or research in education.
• Fluency in French and English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of gender equality and adolescent empowerment concepts.
• Experience with Programme Management and Results‑Based Management.
• Ability to use evidence‑based approaches and coordinate multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
