GHPI Consultant – Band Level B (3-month contract)

About the role

The Global Health for Peace Initiative (GHPI) Consultant will provide operational support to implement the GHPI within the WHO Regional Office for Africa (AFRO). Reporting to senior officers in AFRO and the Interagency Policy for Emergencies (IPE) Unit at WHO Headquarters, the consultant will focus on delivering the actions outlined in WHA Resolution 77.9.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the GHPI roadmap and WHA77.9 actions across the African region.
• Collaborate with WHO Country Offices to design, develop, and implement health‑and‑peace projects.
• Provide technical assistance for program design, implementation, monitoring, and review.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities, including the development of training materials and handbooks.
• Assist in evidence gathering, communication, and awareness‑raising initiatives related to the GHPI.
• Coordinate with the IPE Unit and other UN partners to ensure alignment with global GHPI strategies.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in global health, peacebuilding, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multi‑stakeholder environments and provide technical support.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
