Information Manager – Regional (West Africa & Lake Chad)

About the role

The International NGO Safety Organization (INSO) is seeking an Information Manager to lead information management across West Africa and the Lake Chad Basin. Based in Dakar, the role reports to the Country Director and works closely with the Technology Team at headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inclusive leadership to the Information and GIS teams, managing performance, recruitment and capacity building.
• Act as regional focal point for the Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC), ensuring data quality, classification, and governance.
• Oversee the INSO Portal and App, delivering user support, training and maintaining accurate partner records.
• Design and maintain dashboards, maps and analytical products to support decision‑making and programme reporting.
• Coordinate information‑management activities across the region, reporting on priorities, risks and progress.
• Contribute to global IM initiatives, share best practices and provide temporary coverage for other countries.
• Provide first‑line IT support, manage SharePoint permissions and assist with software licensing.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in data management, visualization or information management.
• At least 2 years experience supervising a team.
• Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Power BI and DAX (or similar BI tools such as Tableau).
• SQL database management.
• Scripting in Python or R.
• GIS software (QGIS or ArcGIS) and basic mapping.
• Dashboard and data‑visualisation development.
• SharePoint administration.
