Information Manager (West Africa & Lake Chad Basin)

About the role

The International NGO Safety Organization (INSO) is seeking an Information Manager to lead information management activities across West Africa and the Lake Chad Basin. Based in Dakar, the role reports to the Country Director and works under the technical guidance of the Technology Team at headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inclusive leadership to the Information and GIS teams, overseeing performance, recruitment, and capacity building.
• Act as the regional focal point for the Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC), ensuring data quality, consistency, and governance.
• Maintain and update key systems such as the CHDC, INSO Portal, and INSO App.
• Produce data‑driven insights through dashboards, maps, charts, and analytical reports.
• Deliver training and onboarding sessions on data classification, coding, and best practices for staff and external partners.
• Uphold data protection, confidentiality, and ethical information‑management standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading information management or GIS teams in humanitarian or NGO contexts.
• Strong understanding of data governance, incident tracking, and humanitarian information standards.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor staff, manage workloads, and promote wellbeing.
• Excellent communication skills for advising regional teams and partners.
