Inventory Manager

About the role

The Inventory Manager will be the primary guardian of physical stock across Jumia's fulfillment centers in Dakar, ensuring that system records match actual quantities. This role focuses on maintaining high inventory accuracy, minimizing loss, and optimizing space utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute daily cycle counts, wall‑to‑wall stock counts, and periodic inventory audits across all warehouse locations.
• Analyze root causes of inventory discrepancies, stock losses and shrinkage, and implement corrective action plans.
• Oversee inventory aging management, product slotting, putaway strategies and storage capacity optimization.
• Partner with Commercial, Inbound and Outbound teams to manage disposal or liquidation of slow‑moving, expired or damaged inventory.
• Ensure strict adherence to Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes, SOPs and internal audit guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Finance.
• 4+ years of inventory control and warehouse management experience in e‑commerce, retail or FMCG.
• Proven track record of maintaining inventory accuracy above 99% and controlling shrinkage.

Required skills

• High proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP tools.
• Advanced Excel skills; SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
