Local Graphic Designer & Digital Communication Consultant

About the role

The Graphic Designer and Digital Communication Consultant will support the Regional Communications Unit in creating high‑quality visual materials, reports and event branding for UNFPA West and Central Africa Regional Office (WCARO). Reporting to the Regional Communications Advisor, the consultant works closely with communications and programme teams to ensure compliance with UNFPA visual identity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and layout thematic reports, annual reports, policy briefs, advocacy documents and brochures, transforming complex data into clear infographics.
• Create digital assets such as web banners, social‑media graphics, animated GIFs, quote cards and promotional visuals in both French and English.
• Develop visual identities for conferences and high‑level events, including logos, colour palettes, typography, roll‑up banners, stage backdrops, badges and other collateral.
• Ensure all graphic products comply with UNFPA branding standards, maintain source files in the regional repository and provide technical design support to country offices.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education (Baccalauréat) required; university degree or Master’s in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or Digital Marketing highly desirable.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in graphic design, UI/UX design and visual communication.
• Fluency in spoken and written French; working knowledge of English is desirable.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
• Proficiency in Canva Pro and UI/UX design tools.
• Strong visual storytelling, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
