Migration and Protection Advisor

About the role

The Migration and Protection Advisor will provide expert guidance and strategic advice to the Pathways to Protection consortium, supporting the design, implementation and monitoring of migration‑related protection activities across the Central, Western and Eastern Mediterranean routes. Based in Dakar, the role works closely with consortium partners, national project teams and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational goals, donor requirements and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Offer strategic advice on programme design, implementation and adaptation to emerging challenges.
• Coordinate with project teams of the Danish Refugee Council, Danish Red Cross and International Detention Coalition to ensure coherent delivery.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, capacity building and technical support among consortium members.
• Monitor compliance with donor regulations, organisational policies and humanitarian standards.
• Travel regularly to implementation countries and represent the consortium in relevant global migration networks.

Required profile

• Humanitarian professional with a strong commitment to protection and access to basic services for people on the move.
• Demonstrated experience in migration, protection or related humanitarian programmes.
• Ability to work in a multi‑partner environment and manage cross‑country coordination.
• Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to diverse field contexts.
