Partnerships Associate

About the role

The Partnerships Associate will support the BBC World Service’s Partnerships Team in Dakar, helping to build and maintain relationships with external media partners across Africa and beyond. You will contribute to the strategic plan that expands the BBC’s reach, protects its reputation, and generates revenue where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between the BBC and external partners in assigned territories.
• Collaborate with BBC editorial and commercial teams to design market‑appropriate distribution solutions.
• Support the development and rollout of new and existing BBC services, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
• Manage third‑party relationships to meet distribution requirements and monitor partner performance.
• Identify opportunities and risks, providing recommendations to senior partnership leadership.
• Contribute to business cases and briefing papers for internal committees such as the Portfolio Management Committee.

Required profile

• Fluent in both French and English.
• Proven experience in media markets, with a track record of achieving results in the sector.
• Strong understanding of broadcast and digital distribution channels.
