Project Development Officer – Migration Environment & Climate Change

About the role

The Project Development Officer will support IOM’s intervention on climate‑related mobility in West and Central Africa. Working under the Deputy Regional Director for Operations and directly supervised by the Regional Thematic Specialist on Migration Environment and Climate Change, the incumbent will collaborate with the Regional Office, Headquarters and Country Offices.

Key responsibilities

• Support IOM’s intervention on climate‑related mobility in West and Central Africa.
• Assist the Regional Thematic Specialist on Migration Environment and Climate Change in policy development and evidence‑based analysis.
• Coordinate with the Regional Office, Headquarters and Country Offices to ensure coherent implementation of climate‑mobility programmes.
• Engage youth stakeholders and contribute to outreach activities related to migration and climate change.
• Monitor and report on project progress, deliverables and emerging trends.

Required profile

• Professional experience in migration, environmental issues or climate‑change policy.
• Understanding of the link between human mobility and climate impacts, particularly in West and Central Africa.
• Ability to work in a multicultural UN‑agency environment and collaborate across multiple units.
