Risk and Performance Manager

About the role

The Fonds Intergénérationnel, managed by FONSIS, invests Senegal’s oil and gas revenues to build financial assets for future generations. Reporting to the FIG Executive Director, the Risk and Performance Manager will design and operate the fund’s portfolio‑risk and performance‑monitoring framework, covering investment risks, stress testing, return attribution and oversight of delegated managers.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the fund’s risk framework, ensuring compliance with investment constraints and exposure limits.
• Identify, assess and report market, credit, liquidity, operational, financial and ESG risks.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses, stress tests and scenario modelling to recommend portfolio‑risk improvements.
• Measure and attribute investment performance by asset class, manager and strategy.
• Evaluate delegated managers for mandate compliance and performance, advising on continuation or changes.
• Prepare risk and performance dashboards for executive and governance bodies.
• Enhance risk policies, procedures, analytical tools and performance‑measurement methods.

Required profile

• At least eight years of experience in risk management, asset management or performance analysis.
• Background in investment, sovereign or pension funds, asset managers, investment banks or international financial institutions.
• Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Finance, Risk Management, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Financial Engineering or a related field.
• Strong quantitative, modelling and data‑analysis capabilities.
• Fluent written and spoken French and English with excellent analytical drafting skills.

• Advanced financial‑risk methodologies and knowledge of various asset classes and instruments.
• Ability to interpret performance and risk indicators and understand asset‑allocation models.
• Proficiency in ESG and governance practices with independent judgement.
