Security Information Systems Assistant

About the role

The Security Information Systems Assistant will support the Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in managing security risks across UNDP operations. This position contributes to the safe delivery of programmes in complex environments, aligning with the United Nations’ mission to promote peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS).
• Support ICT teams in securing digital infrastructure and information systems.
• Provide operational support for security risk assessments and incident response.
• Collaborate with programme staff to ensure security considerations are integrated into project planning.
• Contribute to the development of security policies, procedures, and training materials.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in security or information systems within an international or humanitarian context.
• Understanding of UN security frameworks and risk management principles.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of security management systems and ICT security basics.
• Familiarity with UNDP/UNDSS security policies.
