Senior Research Officer – Global MSNA (Dakar)

About the role

The Senior Research Officer will join the Global Multi‑Sector Needs Assessment (MSNA) team within the Research Systems Unit, based in the Regional Office in Dakar. The role focuses on supporting training, learning and country‑level coordination to strengthen the delivery of independent, evidence‑based humanitarian assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the design and implementation of MSNA training and learning activities.
• Coordinate with country teams and partner organisations to ensure consistent data collection and analysis across assessments.
• Contribute to the scaling‑up of the Global MSNA programme, helping to make assessments faster, cheaper and more resilient.
• Assist in the preparation, quality‑checking and dissemination of MSNA reports and related data products.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in humanitarian research, data collection, management and analysis.
• Familiarity with multi‑sector needs assessments and the humanitarian planning cycle.
• Strong understanding of GIS and satellite‑imagery‑based situation analysis.
