Senior Research Officer – Training, Learning and Country Support (MSNA)

About the role

The Senior Research Officer will join the Global MSNA Team within the Research Systems Unit, based in Dakar. The role focuses on developing and delivering the MSNA Training and Certification Programme and providing direct support to country teams.

Key responsibilities

• Map existing MSNA guidance, identify gaps and develop missing training resources, consolidating them into an externally available MSNA Practitioner's Manual.
• Co‑design and deliver MSNA online courses, foundational and advanced modules on sampling, indicator selection, field data collection and analysis.
• Engage and map certification partners across West and Central Africa, building relationships with national and regional actors.
• Coordinate and co‑deliver training workshops, annual lessons‑learned exercises and the Global MSNA workshop.
• Act as primary focal point for assigned MSNA countries, providing monthly check‑ins, quality assurance reviews and surge support during critical phases of the research cycle.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as development, humanitarian studies, international relations, research methods or social sciences.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the humanitarian sector or field‑based roles in fragile or development contexts.
• Experience designing and implementing large‑scale quantitative surveys or primary research projects.
