Software Engineer (React & Python)

About the role

myAgro is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Global Platform team. You will work on both front‑end and back‑end applications that support field staff and smallholder farmers across West Africa, ensuring reliable performance even in low‑connectivity environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web and mobile applications using React, React Native/Expo, and Python/Django.
• Build and extend backend services, including payment processing, mobile‑money integrations, and event‑driven workflows with AWS SQS.
• Implement offline‑first features using service workers, local storage, and background sync.
• Write automated tests and follow test‑driven development practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and other engineers in Agile sprints.
• Provide timely support and bug fixes via the ticketing platform.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in React and Python, with experience building complex applications.
• Solid understanding of Git version control and containerised development with Docker.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse, distributed team.
• Fluent English; French is a strong plus.
