Risk and Compliance Specialist (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative Operations, the Risk and Compliance Specialist will strengthen risk assurance and compliance across UNICEF’s country office in Senegal. The role focuses on developing and continuously improving risk management practices, internal controls, and HACT assurance activities to ensure transparent, efficient, and ethical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and refine risk management processes at the process, system and entity levels.
• Lead planning and execution of HACT assurance activities, including micro‑assessments, spot checks, programmatic visits and audits.
• Maintain a comprehensive assurance calendar and ensure timely follow‑up on findings and recommendations.
• Coordinate with implementing partners to monitor compliance and internal controls.
• Produce documentation and analysis on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
• Supervise junior staff and ensure quality of assurance outputs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk management, compliance and internal control environments.
• Familiarity with HACT assurance methodologies and audit processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
