Shift Supervisor – Power Plant Operations

About the role

Wärtsilä Energy is looking for a Shift Supervisor to lead and coordinate shift operations at its Bel Air C6 site in Dakar, Senegal. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal plant performance while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise shift operations, schedule work for operators and allocate resources to meet production targets.
• Lead operational shift teams, provide training, guidance and support to foster a collaborative and safe work environment.
• Direct all personnel actions and ensure compliance with safety procedures, equipment use, performance standards and company policies.
• Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Oversee compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and company guidelines.
• Manage availability of tools, parts and resources required for maintenance and operational tasks.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, resolve issues and continuously improve processes.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree in Engineering (B.Eng) or Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical, Mechanical or Electromechanical fields.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in power plant operations.
• Hands‑on experience with Wärtsilä engines.
• Proficiency in English and French.

• Hands‑on operation and maintenance of Wärtsilä engines.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations applicable to power plants.
