Executive Transformation and Strategy Officer

About the role

Heifer International is transforming toward an agile, farmer-centered, locally led and globally connected network organization. This Executive Transformation and Strategy Officer (internal title: Transformation, Strategy and Communications Steward) provides executive stewardship of the next phase of the transformation, working with the CEO, the Transformation Stewardship Committee, the Board of Directors and distributed transformation capabilities. The role supports the Sr. Director, Integration and Adaptation and the Communications Team (Node) and helps build distributed transformation capability across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Steward the integrity and evolution of Heifer's transformation architecture and portfolio, maintaining a whole-system view across program, operating and business models, culture, governance and organizational capabilities.
• Enable the translation of the emerging RNO operating logic into practice, ensuring coherence across organizational designs, policies, processes, decision roles, governance and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Work with the Transformation Stewardship Committee and Node Leads to enable shared stewardship and collective decision-making, while surfacing enterprise-level choices and barriers.
• Synchronize organizational transformation with the evolution of Board governance.
• Cultivate distributed transformation capability across countries, networks and functions, supporting participation, experimentation and co-creation.
• Steward human and cultural transformation, including culture, mindsets, behaviors, leadership practices and capabilities.

The role is global (remote/hybrid possible), preferably in a country where Heifer has an office; listed locations include Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico and the USA. Internal collaborators include the TSC core team, the CEO, the Chief People Officer and distributed transformation leads; external partners include local partners, Board members, consultants and advisors.
