Food & Nutrition Program Consultant

About the role

The Global Health Advocacy Incubator seeks an experienced Food & Nutrition Consultant to provide technical advisory and analytical services that support evidence‑based food and nutrition policy in Senegal. This part‑time, independent consultancy will focus on front‑of‑package labeling, sodium reduction, and sugar‑sweetened beverage taxation.

Key responsibilities

• Advise partners on coordination, information‑sharing, and collaboration among stakeholders to support policy initiatives.
• Analyze political, legislative, regulatory, and stakeholder developments relevant to food and nutrition policy in Senegal and identify strategic opportunities.
• Recommend stakeholder mapping and coalition‑building approaches to strengthen engagement with government, civil society, academia, media, and technical groups.
• Provide technical expertise for the development and implementation of country‑specific policy objectives, including labeling, sodium reduction, and beverage taxation.
• Support the design of capacity‑strengthening materials, policy briefs, presentations, and communication resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s or advanced degree in public health, policy, law, international development or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of professional experience in public policy, advocacy, public health, governance or related fields.
• Proven experience supporting multi‑stakeholder initiatives, coalition‑building, and policy engagement.
• Strong understanding of Senegal’s political, legislative, civil‑society and media environment.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government entities, NGOs, academia, media and technical groups.
• Full professional proficiency in English and French.
