Project Director – Senegal

About the role

The AFGHS‑FHI 360 Project Director will lead the implementation of the HIV/AIDS and Global Health Security portfolio in Senegal, ensuring project goals are met on time, within budget, and in line with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, strategic direction and management of the AFGHS‑FHI 360 project in Senegal.
• Oversee implementation, monitoring of expenditures, risk mitigation and achievement of milestones.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the Ministry of Health, government officials, partners and US Department of State representatives.
• Lead the country team, manage performance, onboarding, professional development and ensure high‑quality results.
• Coordinate with FHI 360 headquarters on work plans, budgets and reporting.

Required profile

• Senegalese national or resident with independent work authorization.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of line‑management experience.
• Strong consultative, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with government, donors and local communities.
