Project Director – AFGHS-FHI 360

About the role

The AFGHS-FHI 360 Senegal Project Director provides overall leadership, management and strategic direction for the AFGHS-FHI 360 project in Senegal, overseeing HIV/AIDS and Global Health Security activities.

Key responsibilities

• Direct overall project vision, design, planning and implementation to meet contractual timelines and budgets.
• Manage internal systems for contracting, recruitment and service delivery, and foster innovative, cost‑efficient strategies.
• Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with government entities, implementing partners and donors.
• Lead performance management, risk mitigation, monitoring and evaluation, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Provide leadership to project staff within a matrixed structure, overseeing onboarding, performance and professional development.
• Serve as primary liaison with the U.S. Department of State Senegal staff and the global AFGHS‑FHI 360 headquarters.

Required profile

• Senegalese national or resident with independent work authorization.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in project management, including at least 5 years in a line‑management role.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, build positive relationships with government and donor representatives, and navigate complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
