Health, Safety & Environment Technician – Kolda, Senegal

About the role

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Technician will support the O&M HSE Manager in promoting and ensuring the safety of Renvolt employees and subcontractors at sites in Senegal. The role focuses on legal compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of HSE processes.

Key responsibilities

• Implement local HSE policies, procedures and documentation defined by the Voltalia Group.
• Ensure compliance with national and international health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Participate in risk assessments and develop HSE plans, preventive instructions, method statements and checklists.
• Support the creation and execution of emergency response plans.
• Deliver training, inductions and toolbox talks for workers and subcontractors.
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits and monitor HSE performance indicators.
• Report monthly HSE KPIs and immediate incident notifications, leading investigations when required.
• Represent the company before official agencies in case of accidents.
• Engage in internal and external HSE meetings and drive continuous improvement actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HSE (Master’s degree a plus).
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are advantageous.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar HSE role.
• Strong knowledge of NF C 18‑510 electrical safety, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Training in health & safety, audits, fire‑fighting, first aid and pedagogical methods.
• Excellent understanding of local health and safety legislation.
• Proficient in French and English and skilled in Microsoft Office.
