Human Resources Intern

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is recruiting a Human Resources Intern for its Human Resources Unit in Dakar/Diamniadio, Senegal, within the GHQ-Out posted Human Resources Unit in WACARO. The internship lasts 2 months and reports to the Senior Regional HR Business Partner. Its purpose is to provide administrative and operational support to HR activities, ensuring accurate implementation of HR processes while building practical HR knowledge and skills.

Key responsibilities

• HR data analysis and reporting: collect, consolidate, analyse and interpret HR data from Workday and other sources to support regional reporting.
• Workforce planning support: produce staffing analyses, trends, forecasts and organisational structure insights for Country Offices and the Regional Bureau.
• Data quality: review HR data for inconsistencies, duplicate records and reporting line discrepancies, and support corrective actions.
• Staffing framework analytics: analyse position management, contract modalities, vacancy trends and workforce alignment indicators.
• Recruitment operations support: assist vacancy tracking, applicant screening coordination, interview scheduling, written tests, recruitment reporting and talent acquisition databases.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to facilitate HR processes and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree in Human Resources Management, Administration or a related field.
• Experience working across a range of WFP contexts and with varying strategic priorities.
• Academic knowledge in HR or related disciplines, internship or volunteer experience, and interest in humanitarian work.
• Fluency (level C) in English or French.
