IT Telecommunication Assistant (G-5) – 6‑month Temporary Role in Dakar

About the role

The IT Telecommunication Assistant will support UNICEF’s Digital Impact and ICT services in Dakar. The role involves providing technical assistance, administering ICT equipment, resolving incidents and helping users adopt digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to end‑users, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
• Administer and maintain ICT systems, including Microsoft Windows environments and audiovisual equipment.
• Support digital collaboration tools and ensure reliable audiovisual services for meetings and trainings.
• Maintain ICT asset registers and inventory, tracking equipment lifecycle.
• Contribute to business continuity by delivering secure and customer‑focused ICT services.

Required profile

• Secondary education with formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications or Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree may replace three years of experience; Master’s degree may replace an additional two years.
• Minimum five years of experience in ICT, telecommunications, network administration or help‑desk support.
• Proven ability to support end‑users, troubleshoot hardware/software and manage network connectivity.
