Regional Finance and Budget Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading UN agency in the field of migration. The Regional Finance and Budget Officer provides strategic and technical support to IOM activities and assists all IOM Country Offices within the region on budgeting, accounting, and related financial and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support and guidance to Country Offices on IOM policies and procedures related to budget, finance, accounting, and treasury.
• Facilitate compliance of Country Offices with applicable IOM rules and regulations in general administration and finance.
• Oversee regional budgeting, accounting, and related financial processes.
• Support the Deputy Regional Director (Management) and the Regional Financial Comptroller in financial oversight.
• Contribute to strategic financial planning and reporting for the region.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and technical financial support across multiple country offices.
• Experience working under the supervision of senior regional finance staff.
• Familiarity with IOM and UN financial rules and procedures.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
