Regional Head of Operational Support – Central & West Africa

About the role

The Regional Head of Operational Support will lead integrated operational management across Central and West Africa, ensuring quality and timely humanitarian response. This senior position reports to the Regional Director and is part of the Regional Management Team.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure support functions (HR, Finance, ICT, Logistics, HAS) operate efficiently and collaboratively within the region.
• Hold country offices accountable for operational performance using reports, analyses and compliance data.
• Provide capacity‑building, advice and mentorship to country directors and support teams.
• Participate in global planning and strategy discussions for support functions.
• Review finance, HR and logistics requirements for regional grants in coordination with global PCM and Grants Management.
• Act on behalf of the Regional Director when required, including leading Crisis Management Teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of leadership/management experience in the humanitarian sector.
• Higher education in business administration, management, finance or a related field.
• Proven experience managing support functions such as finance, HR and logistics; security and safety experience is an asset.
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of the Central and West Africa context and experience in complex, volatile environments.
