Regional Human Resource Officer – Africa (Senegal/Niger preferred)

About the role

The Regional Human Resource Officer for Africa will strengthen Mercy Corps' People function across West and Central Africa, with a focus on Senegal and Niger. This full‑time, regular position provides mobile HR support to country offices, ensuring continuity, quality, and compliance of HR services in complex operating environments.

Key responsibilities

• Reinforce country HR teams and advise leadership on operational HR challenges.
• Ensure consistent, compliant HR service delivery across the region.
• Build resilient HR systems and uplift HR capacity, especially in offices facing staffing shortages, restructures, scale‑ups, or crisis response.
• Support talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations in line with local labor laws.
• Collaborate with Regional HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence to implement HR policies and change processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in human resources, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to travel frequently across West and Central Africa and adapt to diverse cultural settings.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and contextual awareness of regional HR challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
