Senior Programme Associate (SSA7) – Resilience Programme

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Senior Programme Associate (SSA7) to support its Resilience Programme in Kaolack, Senegal. The role focuses on reducing post‑harvest losses in the millet value chain and addressing local unemployment, especially among women and youth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement interventions to improve post‑harvest handling, drying, de‑hulling and winnowing processes.
• Collaborate with local farmers, women’s groups, youth associations and government agencies to promote sustainable practices.
• Collect, analyse and report data on loss rates, production volumes and socio‑economic impacts.
• Support capacity‑building activities, including training on improved techniques and market linkage strategies.
• Monitor project performance against WFP’s results framework and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Food Security or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in agricultural value‑chain projects, preferably in West Africa.
• Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable groups, especially women and youth.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with fluency in English; French is an asset.
