Reporter – Full‑time News Journalist

About the role

Rostel High‑Tech is seeking a full‑time Reporter to work on‑site in Dakar. The role involves uncovering newsworthy stories, conducting interviews, and producing clear, engaging articles and multimedia pieces for the company’s editorial platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research newsworthy topics across various sectors.
• Conduct interviews and gather accurate information from multiple sources.
• Write clear, concise news articles that meet tight deadlines.
• Produce multimedia content such as photos, videos, and audio segments.
• Collaborate with editors and team members to ensure timely publication.
• Monitor industry developments, attend events and press briefings.
• Maintain strong relationships with contacts and stakeholders.
• Verify facts and ensure all content aligns with editorial standards and brand voice.

Required profile

• Strong reporting and investigative skills.
• Excellent news writing ability under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication for interviews and teamwork.
• High attention to detail and commitment to ethical, unbiased reporting.
• Ability to work on‑site in Dakar and manage multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or equivalent practical experience.
