Cash and Voucher Assistance Adviser (Bilateral)

About the role

The Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Adviser will provide strategic, technical and operational support to National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Chad and Nigeria. Based in Dakar, the role strengthens the design, implementation and scaling of high‑quality CVA programmes and contributes to the British Red Cross Africa team’s delivery of the International Strategy 2025‑2030.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic and technical guidance on CVA to partner National Societies.
• Support the design, implementation and monitoring of cash and voucher programmes.
• Build capacity of national staff through training, mentorship and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate with the BRC Africa team to integrate CVA into bilateral and multilateral projects.
• Follow up on recommendations from recent CVA programme evaluations in the Sahel region.
• Ensure compliance with IFRC policies, safeguarding standards and financial controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian cash assistance or voucher programmes.
• Familiarity with Red Cross/Red Crescent structures and the Sahel context.
• Ability to provide technical support and capacity‑building to diverse teams.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
