Human Resources Intern

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is recruiting a Human Resources Intern for its outposted Human Resources Unit in Dakar/Diamniadio, Senegal, within the West Africa Country Office (WACARO). The internship lasts 2 months and reports to the Senior Regional HR Business Partner. It provides administrative and operational support to HR activities, ensures accurate implementation of HR processes, and helps develop practical HR knowledge and skills.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, consolidate, analyse and interpret HR data from Workday and other sources to support regional reporting.
• Support workforce planning by producing staffing analyses, trends, forecasts and organisational structure insights for Country Offices and the Regional Bureau.
• Review HR data for inconsistencies, duplicate records and reporting line discrepancies, and support corrective actions.
• Analyse staffing framework data such as position management, contract modalities, vacancy trends and workforce alignment indicators.
• Support recruitment operations: vacancy tracking, applicant screening coordination, interview scheduling, written tests, recruitment reporting and talent acquisition databases.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to facilitate HR processes and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Experience working across a range of WFP contexts and with varying strategic priorities.
• Academic knowledge in HR or related disciplines.
• Internship or volunteer experience, and an interest in humanitarian work.
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree in Human Resources Management, Administration or similar.
• Fluency (level C) in English or French.
