Migration and Protection Advisor

About the role

The Migration and Protection Advisor will provide expert guidance and strategic advice to the Pathways To Protection (P2P) Consortium, supporting the design and implementation of migration‑related protection programmes across the Central, Western and Eastern Mediterranean routes.

Key responsibilities

• Offer technical and strategic input to ensure project activities align with consortium goals, donor requirements and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with project teams of the Danish Refugee Council, Danish Red Cross and International Detention Coalition, as well as with national partners in implementation countries.
• Monitor emerging challenges and opportunities, proposing adaptive solutions to improve protection outcomes.
• Facilitate regular travel to field sites and attend consortium meetings to maintain coordination and knowledge sharing.
• Provide dual reporting to the Chief of Party of the Consortium Management Unit and technical reference to the Danish Red Cross.

Required profile

• Humanitarian professional with a strong passion for improving protection and access to basic services for people on migration routes.
• Demonstrated expertise in mixed migration and protection issues, preferably within the Mediterranean context.
• Experience working in multi‑partner consortiums or international NGOs.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project countries and work from the Dakar office.
