Monitoring Assistant G5-1

About the role

The Monitoring Assistant will support the RAM unit in Ziguinchor, Senegal, under the direct supervision of the Sub‑office Chief and technical supervision of the RAM unit. The role ensures the proper implementation of monitoring procedures and activities for WFP programmes, contributing to effective humanitarian assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, execution and documentation of field monitoring missions.
• Collect, verify and analyse data related to food assistance programmes.
• Support the preparation of monitoring reports and dashboards for senior management.
• Coordinate with programme staff, partners and beneficiaries to ensure data quality and timeliness.
• Maintain monitoring tools and databases in accordance with WFP standards.
• Provide logistical support for monitoring visits, including travel arrangements and field logistics.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, development studies, statistics or a related field.
• Relevant experience in field monitoring, data collection or programme evaluation, preferably in a humanitarian context.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
