Regional QHSE Manager – West & Central Africa

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Regional QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health, Safety & Environment initiatives across our West and Central Africa markets. The role will strengthen our QHSE framework, drive a proactive safety culture, and support expansion into new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional QHSE strategy, standards, policies and governance.
• Lead continuous improvement, establish dashboards, KPIs and performance reviews.
• Design occupational health and safety programs, conduct risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Strengthen environmental management, drive sustainability initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Establish quality‑management processes, audit programs and corrective actions.
• Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, support certifications and internal audits.
• Integrate QHSE requirements into project planning, monitor contractor compliance and oversee site inspections.
• Support QHSE readiness for new market entry, assess country‑specific risks and develop implementation plans.

Required profile

• 6+ years in QHSE/EHS leadership roles across multiple African markets.
• Experience in telecom infrastructure, energy or high‑risk operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Proven ability in risk assessment, audits, incident investigation and corrective actions.
• Experience managing regional QHSE teams and working with senior management.
• Fluency in English; French proficiency preferred.
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Management, HSE or related field.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Lead Auditor, IRCA) are a plus.
