Senior HR Business Partner – Africa Region

About the role

The Senior HR Business Partner will support the Africa Region units of the World Bank Group, providing strategic HR advisory services and driving talent initiatives across West, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa. Reporting to the HR Manager for Africa regions, the role contributes to the implementation of people‑management agendas aligned with the Bank’s development mission.

Key responsibilities

• Advise regional leadership on HR strategy, talent management, career development and policy implementation.
• Lead complex HR projects, including workforce planning, performance management and organizational design.
• Collaborate with the One WBG Talent Acquisition & Global Mobility team to support recruitment and mobility initiatives.
• Partner with Employment Policy, Compensation and Systems, and Performance, Career and Learning departments to ensure integrated HR solutions.
• Support the two Africa VPUs – Africa West & Central and Africa Eastern & Southern – in delivering HR services that meet regional needs.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in HR business partnering within large, multinational organizations.
• Strong understanding of HR policies, talent acquisition, compensation, performance management and learning.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects and influence senior stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and French.
